Celebrate Kootenay-Columbia Water
It's time to celebrate and protect water in Kootenay-Columbia
The people of Kootenay-Columbia and indeed all Canadians know how important water is to who we are as a country.
The riding takes its name from two great rivers flowing through the south-east corner of our province. Whether you are paddling the Columbia, fishing on St. Mary's lake or taking a plunge into Kootenay Lake there are plenty of reasons to celebrate water in the Kootenay-Columbia.
Water goes beyond leisure activities. Farmers need access to water to irrigate their fields and feed their livestock. All Canadians should have access to safe drinking water. And we must protect our water from becoming a tradeable good under the North American Free Trade Agreement.
