Celebrate our water by Paddling the Columbia

Saturday September 23rd, 10:00am - 3:00pm
Meet at Athalmer Bridge 10am
Invermere , British Columbia V0a1k0

For more information visit Wildsight

Join Wayne and Wildsight as they celebrate Wildsight’s 30th anniversary, BC Rivers Day and the lakes, rivers and streams of the Columbia Basin, with a float down the Columbia River from Athalmer to Radium. We have so much to celebrate this year, including the enactment of the boating regulation on the Columbia River and the launch of Living Lakes Canada.

The Columbia River travels 2000km from Canal Flats, BC to the Pacific Ocean at Astoria, Oregon. The headwaters section of this mighty river from Columbia Lake through the Columbia Wetlands are the only intact portion of the river system, unmodified by dams, and is recognized internationally as a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance. Join us in celebrating our water!

Please meet at 10am at the Athalmer Bridge. Canoes, kayaks and SUPs welcome (and we’ve arranged a voyageur canoe if you want to travel in traditional style). Canoe, kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals are available from Columbia River Paddle in Athalmer and they are generously offering our party discounted rates for boat rental and shuttle – rates to be confirmed shortly.
