Federal government launches consultation on Canada's national parks
January 16th, 2017 - 11:35am
The federal government has launched a three-week consultation on Canada's national parks. “Let's Talk Parks, Canada!” invites all Canadians to share their views on Canada's national parks, national historic sites, and national marine conservation areas and on the Parks Canada Agency from January 9 to 27, 2017.
As the NDP National Parks Critic, I am glad to see the government reaching out to Canadians on this important topic. At the same time, the complex issues facing our national parks from coast to coast to coast deserve and require a much longer discussion.
In our riding of Kootenay-Columbia, we are blessed to have four spectacular national parks. Your participation in this discussion is important. If, like me, you are passionate about the future of Canada's national parks, I encourage you to provide your input at www.letstalkparkscanada.ca.
